Brother's Keeper

Brother’s Keeper is a service initiative rooted in compassion, dignity, and community care. The program focuses on supporting Alpha Phi Alpha brothers, spouses, widows, elders, individuals with disabilities, and vulnerable members of the community who may need assistance navigating life’s challenges. Through meaningful acts of service, Brother’s Keeper works to improve quality of life while helping individuals maintain independence, stability, and connection.

The program may provide support through companionship, transportation assistance, wellness check-ins, food and supply assistance, property upkeep, and other resources designed to meet practical day to day needs. Beyond direct assistance, Brother’s Keeper reflects the fraternity’s commitment to ensuring no one feels forgotten or unsupported. It is a living example of service, brotherhood, and responsibility in action.

The program creates safe spaces for honest conversations surrounding education, responsibility, decision making, relationships, self identity, mental wellness, and future planning. Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha serve as mentors and examples, encouraging participants to pursue excellence while equipping them with tools needed for success in school, relationships, and life.

Project Alpha is centered on empowerment, accountability, and preparation for the future. By fostering strong mentorship connections and exposing young men to positive opportunities, the program seeks to inspire participants to become leaders within their families, schools, and communities.

Voteless People is a Hopeless People
A Voteless People is a Hopeless People is one of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s longest standing national programs focused on civic engagement, voter education, and political empowerment. Originally launched during a time when many African Americans faced barriers to voting, the initiative continues to promote awareness, participation, and advocacy within local communities.

The program educates individuals on the voting process, assists with voter registration efforts, and encourages informed participation in local, state, and national elections. Through town halls, community forums, candidate discussions, and outreach events, the initiative helps residents better understand the issues affecting their communities and the power their voices carry at the ballot box.

More than a voter registration effort, the program is designed to inspire active citizenship, strengthen communities through civic responsibility, and encourage future generations to remain engaged in shaping policies and leadership that impact their daily lives.
